Abstract

|
Nicotinic acid which is widespread in the foodstuffs is essential to mankind just as the other nourishment’s to us. Since the quantitative assay for the analysis. of nicotinic acid has rarely been reported, the author attempted the making use of the coloring reaction of ammonium metavanadate with nicotinic. acid which changed the solution into steady yellow color for the rapid and convenient quantitative analysis.
The complex compound formation of nicotinic acid with ammonium metavanadate was very good at the pH of 5.5 to 6.5 and the maximal absorption occ-urred at 545m?.
